The rally was led and addressed by Maulana Sami-ul-Haque, Amir JUI-S, Jamaat-i-Islami Naib Ameer Siraj-ul-Haq, Jamat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, former ISI Chief General Hameed Gul ((Retd), Admiral Javed Iqbal (Retd), Amir Jamiat-e-Ahl-e-Hadith Hafiz Ibtsam Elahi, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Roprhi, Maulana Ahmad Ludhianvi, Maulana Fazalur Rahman Khalil, Maulana Shamsur Rehman and other leaders . They said that 16th December was the darkest day in the history of Pakistan. India was responsible for dismemberment of Pakistan in 1971 and even now it was using all means to destroy the rest of Pakistan, geographically, politically, economically. They said it would be a great betrayal with the people of Pakistan and their future generations to give MFN status to India which was making all out efforts to dismember unity and solidarity of Pakistan.
They said that it was a long standing resolve of the Pakistan nation not to have normal trade relations with India unless the issue of Jammu and Kashmir was settled in accordance with the wishes of J&K people. The Kashmiris have made tremendous sacrifices for liberation of their State from Indian occupation. Even the UN Security Council had guaranteed them their right of self-determination, which is yet to be exercised.
They warned that any body who compromises the national interests and Kashmiris right of self-determination would be considered a traitor and he would not be allowed to live in Pakistan like the former dictator Pervaiz Musharraf.
